Re: PIR Consumption Mode

Hi Sugan

The PIR consumption mode will control how the forecast is consumed. This plays a key role in your Supply Planning.

Depending on what setup you have in your consumption mode combining with how your manage your forecast (when the forecast is released, how the fcst is consumed, etc), you will have impacts in the Total Demand and you will have different reactions in your supply planning.. This means that your MRP will create more or less replenishment order depending on your consumption mode.

Let me try to explain with an example.

Suppose that you have daily forecast = 100CS.

Suppose that you don't delete the unconsumed forecast during the month..

Suppose that you consume your forecast against the sales orders (planning strategy 40)

Now let's suppose that you enter a sales order for 700 CS in the day 6.

Take a look of 3 different alternatives:

- You only use 5 days Bwrd consumption --> You will react considering a demand of 1200 CS

- You use 5 days Bwrd consumption + 2 days Fwrd consumption --> You will react considering a demand of 1000 CS

- You only use 5 days Fwrd consumption --> You will react considering a demand of 1200 CS

Thanks and Regards,

Mariano
